Sienna's dream - Home makeover

Beautiful Sienna is 17 and from Langold. She suffers from a neurodevelopmental disorder called Retts Disorder. It affects her so much that she is unable to walk, talk, eat or communicate in any way but her mum Nicky who is her full time carer knows what she is thinking as all mums do!

Because Sienna relies completely on her wheelchair (which is super heavy) her mum couldn't take her into any room other than her bedroom. She was stuck by herself a lot and this broke he mums heart, she wanted her involved in what was happening in the house!

We helped facilitate some minor changes to the home layout so that now Sienna can be in any room downstairs in her house.

Her mum sent us these comments when the work was complete:

"I wish I was able to thank you myself but my mum is my voice and she will know I am so incredibly happy with our new layout as now I am able to spend time with her and visitors.

We are now able to watch TV together and whilst mum cooks or cleans I can always see her which makes me feel safe.

I can now leave via the front door without using the big ramp which is life changing in this cold weather.

You have made mum's life much easier as she worried checking on me if she was in another room but no longer as she I am always in her eyesight.

Also how incredibly kind of you and the trustees to allow us to make these changes because without you it would have never happened.

I am unable to communicate but if I could in anyway I would tell you you're an amazing charity who all not only works hard in your own professions but gives your time up for people like myself.

Thank you so so much! I hope I can meet you one day."
