Heidi's dream - Tribike
15 year old Heidi from Horncastle was 12 when her life changed. She went from having full function of her legs to in just 3 years, being unable to walk more than a few metres unaided.
At 15 years old, most kids are discovering their independence but for obvious reasons Heidi wasn't able to do this which caused her mental health to suffer as she wasn't able to join in the same activities with her friends as she used to.
Heidi loves the Army Cadets. She attends every week and is able to join in most things that they do. Annual camp was becoming an issue though, because of her mobility she was told the cadets may not be able to let her attend... and we could not have that!
Heidi's mum, Cat, had been fundraising to buy Heidi a tribike which she can propel herself and has off road capability. We provided the remaining funds required to give Heidi back her freedom and be able to do all those usual things that teenagers love to do!
And we have got to say doesn't she look super cool on her new wheels!
Happy triking Heidi!
