Alex's dream - November 2019

We would like to introduce Alex. Alex was diagnosed with kidney cancer and after having one kidney removed, underwent chemotherapy in 2019.

We are overjoyed to report that this was successful and Alex's dream, bless his heart, was to have a big party to celebrate him ringing the bell at Sheffield Children's Hospital on 27 November 2019 to mark the end of his treatment.

Our Trustees organised a party fit for the brave little prince that Alex is. They had a children's entertainer who did magic tricks and taught the kids how to do the tricks too. There was a surprise visit from Spiderman himself, games, dancing, a photographer and a Spiderman cake.

Team CADF also gave Alex a Spiderman watch as a present to celebrate that after all his treatment he can now spend 'time' enjoying himself and being a little boy again.

A few words from Alex's mum, Franchette...

"I like to say a very big thank you, on behalf of all of us as a family, to you all for making Alex’s dream a reality. Alex had a fantastic time with all his friends and really enjoyed all the entertainment provided by CADF which we are very grateful for. The amazing photographer who was there on the day had definitely captured some special moments on that memorable day.

It was an incredible day indeed. What made it even more special is the dedication and commitment that Julie put into this. She made sure Alex’s party was a success. We all had such an amazing time for sure!"

Happy New Year everyone! Thank you for all your support which allows us to make dreams come true!
